The Community You Will Join

Our Guest Data Analytics Engineering team is on the lookout for a Senior Analytics Engineer. This team is responsible for managing data assets related to guest interactions and developing frameworks for data-driven decision-making. In this pivotal role, you'll engage with Airbnb's most influential data assets and play a key part in measuring the impact of new Airbnb product launches.

The Difference You Will Make

As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you'll bring a unique perspective to our data strategy, offering in-depth technical expertise. We're seeking someone skilled in data modeling, metric development, and large-scale distributed data processing frameworks such as Trino and Spark. Utilizing these tools and Airbnb's premier internal data systems, you will elevate the capabilities of our product and AI/ML teams, unlocking insights and developing high-quality models.

A Typical Day

• Develop high-quality data assets for product use-cases.
• Create frameworks and tools to scale insight generation, meeting crucial business and product requirements.
• Collaborate with Product, AI/ML, and Data Science teams to build strong partnerships.
• Influence the direction of data in decision-making processes.
• Champion data quality across the stack to boost trust in our data.
• Set best practices for event logging instrumentation and participate in architectural designs.

Your Expertise

• 5-9+ years of experience with a BS/Masters, or 2+ years with a PhD.
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one data engineering language, such as Python or Scala.
• Experience with tools like Superset and Tableau.
• Expertise in Event Logging modeling.
• Proficient in large-scale distributed data processing frameworks like Presto or Spark.
• Familiarity with ETL frameworks like Airflow.
• Exceptional communication skills to simplify complex ideas for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong capability to build trusted partnerships across teams.

Nice to Have

• Experience designing high-quality visualization tools.
• Skills in scaling data tasks via automation.

Your Location

This position is US - Remote Eligible, with occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites as agreed with your manager. How We'll Take Care of You

Our job titles may encompass multiple career levels. The actual base pay depends on factors like training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonuses, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits. Base Pay Range: $174,000—$213,500 USD.
