Job Summary

Our Data Team is pivotal in driving both strategic and tactical decisions across Bird. As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you’ll spearhead critical data initiatives, from designing complex data models and pipelines to enhancing our data architecture and strategy. Collaborating closely with engineering, operations, and finance, your expertise will ensure our data structure accurately reflects business logic and supports broader strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop intuitive and scalable data models to facilitate effective querying and visualization.
  • Design and optimize ML algorithms to meet complex business needs.
  • Enhance data automation to maximize analytical efficiency.
  • Guide the development of our Analytics Engineering roadmap.
  • Establish and uphold data governance and architecture standards.
  • Lead the integration and optimization of new data tools and systems.
  • Create prototypes rapidly for iterative feedback.
  • Conduct data handling and visualization training for staff.

Job Requirements

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science or Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of experience in data engineering, proficient in SQL and big-data frameworks like Spark or Kafka.
  • Demonstrable skills in programming languages such as Python or Java.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and Agile workflow management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Highly Desired:

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline.
  • Proficiency with BI tools like Tableau or Looker.

Compensation Details

As a Senior Analytics Engineer, the anticipated base salary range is $158,300—$186,200 USD, based on experience and location. This role also qualifies for additional compensation benefits, including bonuses and equity.
