The Team You Will Join

The Listing and Structured Data team is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer. This team manages ML models and data assets related to essential listings and builds frameworks for data-informed decision-making at scale. In this role, you will collaborate with Airbnb’s impactful data assets, playing a crucial part in measuring Airbnb product launches.

The Difference You Will Make

As a Senior Analytics Engineer, you will significantly influence our data strategy, providing in-depth technical expertise. We’re looking for a professional experienced in data modeling, metric development, and large-scale distributed data processing frameworks like Trino and Spark. Using these tools, along with top-tier internal data tooling, you will enhance product and AI/ML team capabilities to unlock insights and develop high-quality models.

A Typical Day

• Develop high-quality data assets for product use cases
• Create frameworks and tools to scale insights for critical business and product needs
• Collaborate and build strong partnerships with Product, AI/ML, and Data Science teams
• Influence data-driven decision-making
• Champion data quality across the stack to improve trust
• Influence event logging instrumentation best practices and contribute to architecture designs

Your Expertise

• 5-9+ years of experience with a BS/Masters or 2+ years with a PhD
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one data engineering language (e.g., Python, Scala)
• Experience with Superset and Tableau
• Prior experience with Event Logging modeling
• Proficiency in large-scale distributed data processing frameworks like Presto or Spark
• Experience with an ETL framework like Airflow
• Clear communication skills for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong ability to develop trusted cross-team partnerships

Nice to Have

• Designing high-quality visualization tools
• Automating data tasks for scalability

Your Location

This position is US-Remote Eligible, with occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, subject to your manager's agreement. Candidates must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity. Please for the up-to-date list of excluded states.

Compensation & Benefits

Our job titles may span more than one career level, and base pay is dependent on factors such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. The base pay range may change in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits. Pay Range: $174,000—$213,500 USD.
