Job Description

Typical roles and responsibilities include:

• Fostering a research-oriented mindset and curiosity, taking ownership of projects, and effectively addressing challenges throughout the machine learning and data science lifecycle.
• Researching and applying advanced statistics and machine learning techniques to tackle business issues, initially focusing on Natural Language Processing.
• Contributing to AI and machine learning operations, developing, testing, deploying, monitoring, and maintaining machine learning models to ensure their accuracy and performance.
• Cooperating with cross-functional teams to identify third-party machine learning and AI tools that could lead to transformative changes in our technology.
• Working closely with stakeholders to comprehend and identify insights, provide recommendations for their business issues, and guide project directions through prototyping, requirement setting, and implementation.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement AI strategies during the early phases of adopting newly developed methods and tools.
• Consistently enhancing your skills and knowledge within your role, leveraging your expertise to propose innovative solutions for business challenges.
• Clearly and concisely communicating data science findings.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
• Effective teamwork and collaboration skills.

Experience:

• Demonstrated expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and data science in the industry and/or academia (preferably, with 4+ years of experience).
• While NLP experience isn't obligatory, it is essential to demonstrate the ability to engage in data science projects, implement and explore diverse models from academic literature, and apply these skills to domains such as NLP.

Technical skills:

• Applied Research Aptitude: Demonstrated ability to take ownership of projects, acquire necessary skills, and effectively address challenges throughout project lifecycles.
• Problem-Solving: Profound analytical and problem-solving skills for tackling complex issues through data-driven methodologies.
• Machine Learning & Deep Learning: Proven expertise in developing, evaluating, and monitoring machine learning and deep learning models, with a solid understanding of recent theoretical developments in the field. Proficiency in PyTorch and/or TensorFlow.
• Data Exploratory Analysis: Proficiency in statistical methods for comprehensive data exploration, analysis, and drawing meaningful conclusions, including causal inference.
• Programming Proficiency: Strong programming skills in Python, facilitating the development of data science models and successful execution of tasks in data science projects.
• Effective Communication: Ability to communicate findings and proposed solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences via reports, publications, and presentations.

Good to have:

• Financial Acumen: Eagerness to acquire knowledge about financial concepts and address operational challenges within the domain.
• MLOps Experience: Familiarity with and knowledge of MLOps for production, potentially using AWS services or other relevant platforms, would be advantageous.
