Senior Business Intelligence Engineer - Core Selling Partner Experience at Amazon

The Core Selling Partner Experience team is at the forefront of defining, implementing, and enforcing quality standards for all Amazon-built experiences for our global selling partners. We're on the lookout for a seasoned Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) to join our Governance team, which is dedicated to measuring the quality of the Selling Partner Experience.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with engineering, science, and product leaders to provide insights into the vendor experience.
  • Create key performance indicators and design user-friendly, automated reporting solutions.
  • Break down complex problems to discover opportunities for our selling partners.
  • Blend advanced reporting with strong critical thinking and project management skills.
  • Design and deliver cross-functional, custom reporting solutions.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience building measures and metrics, and developing reporting solutions.
  • Proficiency in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.
  • Knowledge of information retrieval, data science, machine learning, and data mining.
  • 4+ years of SQL experience.
  • 3+ years of data visualization experience.
  • 2+ years of programmatic preparation of data for visualization tools like Tableau or AWS QuickSight.
  • 1+ years of ETL Management/Data Pipeline experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related technical/engineering field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expert-level knowledge of SQL.
  • Familiarity with the AWS tech stack (Glue, Redshift, S3, Quicksight, and Sagemaker).
  • Experience as a leader or mentor in data analytics.
  • Proven ability to work directly with business owners to gather requirements and interpret results.
  • Experience testing causal arguments against historical datasets.
  • Proficient in documenting technical and data systems for technical and business audiences.
  • Collaborative experience with data scientists on research and machine learning projects.
  • Skill in interpreting forum/natural language data.
  • Master’s Degree in a technical or engineering field.

Compensation and Benefits

Our compensation package reflects the labor costs across various US markets, with a base pay ranging from $117,300/year to $202,800/year. Your pay may vary based on market location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
