About the role

At komoot, data is pivotal in making the best decisions possible. As a (Senior) Data Analyst, you will join Steph, Pierre-Loïc, Valentin, and the rest of the Analytics team. You will work with product managers, developers, and designers in cross-functional squads to enhance the user experience of millions of outdoor enthusiasts. You will transform data into actionable insights to guide decisions. You will design tracking and metrics, create visualizations and build dashboards, and conduct experiments and explorative analyses. Together, we aspire to help people explore more of the outdoors.

What you will do

  • Convert data into actionable insights about our users to guide product decisions
  • Identify strategic opportunities in the data and assist in shaping squad roadmaps
  • Design metrics to measure the success of key features
  • Create visualizations to highlight trends and user behavior
  • Construct dashboards and scheduled reports to monitor product KPIs
  • Design new events to track product features and provide data quality checks for the client teams
  • Design and analyze A/B tests
  • Organize and prioritize tasks of our data analytics roadmap

Requirements

You’ll be successful in this role if you

  • Have 3+ years of experience with product analytics, including funnel analysis, cohort analysis, retention analysis, and A/B testing
  • Possess excellent SQL skills and are comfortable working with a cloud data warehouse (like Redshift, Snowflake, or BigQuery)
  • Know how to utilize Python/Pandas for data analysis and have some experience with software development workflows (such as version control or code review)
  • Have a solid understanding of statistical concepts and can apply them to real-world scenarios (like hypothesis testing)
  • Can effectively convey data topics and analysis results (such as visualization, dashboard design) and can explain complex concepts in clear and simple language
  • Have a deep comprehension of data quality and reliability of results
  • Know how to understand business needs and translate abstract problems into technical solutions
  • Can apply rigorous analytical thinking and are passionate about finding actionable insights
  • Are hands-on, self-driven, and adept at learning independently
  • Are a team player, communicate empathetically, and are always ready to assist others
