What We Need:
We are looking for a senior data analyst to enable the game Studio behind one of our leading titles to make decisions based on reliable data. The ideal candidate will be accountable for providing data tools, telemetry, dashboards, and compelling insights to steer game development and growth. The right person will have a good balance of business acumen along with analytical and technical expertise.
What You Will Do:
Answering directly to the Senior Director of Mobile Analytics, your responsibilities will include:
- Business Insight: Understanding the challenges our Studios and partners wish to solve, and then determining the accurate data, metrics, analysis, and interpretation leading to the right recommendations and decisions.
- Understand players: Help further our understanding, modelling, predicting, segmenting and retaining our players and enable our Studios to launch new titles and develop features.
- ETL pipeline: Managing the ETL pipeline for one of our top games by working closely with data engineering.
- Telemetry design: Collaborating with our studio developers to create in-game telemetry to measure player behavior.
- Serving as the technical data expert in interactions with stakeholders, providing regular game health updates to stakeholders and leadership teams.
- Creating and maintaining reporting dashboards, supervising data quality, and consolidating data from multiple sources for creating and tracking key KPIs.
What Makes You a Good Match:
- 4+ years of professional experience in data science or analytics role.
- SQL: Ability to write complex SQL queries to analyze our databases housing millions of players and familiarity with relational database systems.
- Familiarity with querying in Snowflake, Redshift, Postgres, etc.
- Analytical coding: Proficiency in coding using languages like Python or R.
- Visualization: Proficiency in at least one visualization tool like Tableau or Looker.
- Tech skills: Proven experience with some or all of the following: statistics, experimental design, machine learning, predictive modeling, deep learning.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting with diverse functions and changing priorities.
- Effective collaboration skills with product managers, game designers, game engineers, marketers, and other analysts to deliver clear business impacts.
- Extraordinary attention to detail, natural curiosity, and creative problem-solving ability.
- Effective communication and presentation skills to address both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Self-starter with the motivation to delve deep into the data, develop analytical hypotheses, and come up with actionable insights for product improvement.
Bonus Points:
- Established track record in data challenges in similar roles, preferably within mobile gaming or similarly customer-oriented digital businesses.
- Familiarity with telemetry/analytics SaaS tools (e.g., Mixpanel, Amplitude).
- Familiarity with handling massive data sets and tools to deal with them (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, AWS).
- Experience in behavioral psychology/economics and experimental design.
- Knowledge and passion for NBA and WWE franchises preferred.
- Love for mobile games.
