We are seeking highly motivated Senior Data Analysts to perform deep quantitative and qualitative analyses on issues critical to U.S. national security. These issues include assessing risk within the Defense Industrial Base, identifying inefficiencies in business operations, and quantifying the impact of investments on performance outcomes and strategic goals. Senior Data Analysts are tasked with developing new methods to answer client questions, communicating data-driven viewpoints to executives in the national security community, and managing cross-functional teams to produce engaging data visualizations, written reports, and presentations.

Senior Data Analysts at Govini must have a solid understanding of how to use data to solve complex client problems. They have a quantitative mindset and know the tools required to dive into data. They understand defense acquisition processes and value effective and efficient program management. They possess the professional acumen to lead discussions with top DoD and government agency officials. They understand that there can be multiple solutions to complex problems, and know how to participate in constructive dialogue to find the best path forward.
This is a full-time position, based in our Arlington, VA office.
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Supervise cross-functional teams of analysts to deliver innovative, unique, high-quality analysis and drive improvements to Govini’s products
- Use quantitative tools to clean, organize, and combine multiple streams of unstructured data
- Perform quantitative analysis to provide objective and accurate viewpoints of business operations, producing valuable insights for customers and recommendations for performance improvement
- Present data-driven findings verbally and visually in a succinct, compelling manner to executives and government officials
- Demonstrate deep knowledge in key areas such as OSINT investigative analysis, Supply Chain Risk Management including IT-related SCRM (ICT SCRM), industrial base, manufacturing, & production areas, technology scouting and technology application, defense acquisitions and program management, government procurement, supplier assurance, federal contracting, and/or Planning, Programming, Budget, and Execution (PPBE)
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required
Required Skills:
- Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, STEM fields, or related programs
- Experience overseeing multiple, complex analytical projects
- Proven leadership in national security-related analysis with teams of junior analysts, providing quality assurance, overseeing methodology, and mentoring
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, experience presenting complex analysis to non-technical stakeholders and identifying the important conclusions from the data
- Referenceable history of superior performance in conducting innovative and high-quality analysis
- Excellent professional demeanor with a willingness to step out of your comfort zone in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Python, R, SQL, or Excel
Desired Skills:
- 4-6 years experience performing national security-related analytics; preference for those with skills in research, quantitative analysis, data manipulation, and data visualization
- Eligibility and willingness to obtain a U.S. security clearance
