Role Overview

The Senior Data Analyst at Western Alliance Bank is a pivotal role responsible for driving Enterprise Data & Analytics solutions. This position ensures data alignment between business and technology teams by collaborating closely with business units to understand their processes and data workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with Data Product Managers, Data Architects, and Data Engineering Managers to integrate data analysis into the product development lifecycle.
• Develop, implement, and support best practices for data exploration, profiling, quality, and mapping in alignment with the Western Alliance Bank data strategy.
• Collaborate with business data owners on data profiling and source data analysis for critical applications and systems.
• Participate in data governance activities alongside Enterprise Data Stewards.
• Manage data lineage, business rules, reference data, and mapping documents using the Metadata Management Tool.
• Utilize data analysis skills to enhance data quality and governance processes and to engineer the enterprise data warehouse.
• Create data visualizations with Power BI to communicate analysis findings and recommendations.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, MIS, or Data & Analytics or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in data analysis, especially in enterprise data management including data warehousing and source to target mapping.
• Proficiency with RDBMS and query languages such as T-SQL, PL/SQL, and Spark SQL.
• Experience using analytics tools like SPSS, SAS, Tableau, and PowerBI.
• Experience with data profiling and wrangling tools (e.g., IDQ/IDMC, Alteryx).
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Experience working in Agile, SAFe, and/or Scrum environments.
• Familiarity with data governance functions and integration with data quality, catalog, and lineage tools.
• Preferred certifications: Azure Fundamentals, Azure Data Engineer, Azure Data Scientist, and/or Azure DevOps Engineer.
• Banking or financial services industry experience or other highly regulated industry experience.
