Job Description: Senior Data Architect

Summary

We are in search of an experienced senior data architect to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our AWS cloud infrastructure. You will play a vital role in creating scalable, reliable, and efficient data solutions that align with our business goals.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data lake house architecture on AWS using industry best practices.
• Implement data labeling strategy and principles as dictated by Data Governance and Information Security.
• Create ETL/ELT processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources, ensuring data quality and integrity.
• Ensure the data lake house maintains quality, reliability, availability, and scalability.
• Optimize data ingestion, processing, storage, and access for multiple use cases including analytics, reporting, machine learning, and data visualization.
• Develop and document data models, data dictionaries, data pipelines, and data standards.
• Provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews, and offer mentorship to data engineers and analysts.
• Stay current with data domain trends and technologies; evaluate and adopt new tools and frameworks as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
• At least 10 years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or software engineering.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Expertise in AWS data services such as S3, Glue, Athena, Redshift, EMR, Kinesis, Lambda, etc.
• Strong knowledge of data lake concepts, architectures, and design patterns.
• Experience in building and managing data pipelines using tools like Airflow, Spark, Kinesis, etc.
• Comfortable working with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data sources like relational databases, NoSQL databases, APIs, web logs, etc.
• Thorough understanding of data quality, data governance, data security, and data privacy frameworks and standards.
• Experience with data analysis and data visualization tools like Power BI.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of Iceberg and Trino is a plus.
