The Role: Senior Data Engineer
As a Senior Data Engineer based in the St. Louis, MO or Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX areas, you'll play a crucial role in co-owning our data strategy and architecting robust data platforms aligned with business needs. This position involves leading the development of data pipelines and products that empower our analytics teams to excel. You'll contribute to our modern data infrastructure's vision using Data Bricks and collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and specialists to establish best practices for our business-critical systems and data products.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Drive automation across data analytics using Terraform, MSFT Bicep, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
- Collaborate with internal teams to monitor and secure Azure environments critical for data infrastructure.
- Design, develop, and maintain marketing databases and data pipelines to facilitate advanced data operations.
- Ensure seamless data integration and robust data transformation processes.
- Implement quality controls and set departmental standards to meet regulatory and organizational expectations.
- Engage in development and educational initiatives to enhance data engineering capabilities.
- Anticipate and design solutions for future technological, people, and budget needs within the department.
- Communicate the business impacts of data initiatives to both internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5+ years in modern data engineering with a strong foundation in cloud-native solutions.
- Expertise in Python, Java, or Scala and respective data processing libraries.
- Proven experience in building data pipelines for AI/ML models using PySpark or Python.
- Familiarity with Azure, SQL, Python, Docker/Kubernetes, CI/CD, Git and Spark, Kafka.
- Experience in integrating data from various platforms into a centralized warehouse is crucial.
- Masters Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
