About the Senior Data Engineer role...
The Enterprise Data Management and Analytics (EDMA) team at Siteminder is the central BI and Analytics team catering to all the analytical needs of the company. This role is crucial as part of the core data engineering and Ops team within EDMA.
As a Senior Data Engineer, you would be part of the core data engineering team responsible for the entire BI infrastructure.
The qualities of successful candidates in this role include...
- Having 5+ years of experience in a Data Engineer role with at least one full cloud implementation project experience.
- Possessing experience in developing Enterprise data architecture using the latest Big Data technologies, preferably Open Source.
- Holding experience in solution development using Kinesis, Kafka or similar alternatives to handle streaming data sets in at least one project (Must have).
- Having considerable hands-on experience working with AWS data services such as Glue, EMR, Kinesis, Redshift, Athena, Aurora, etc.
- Having experience in designing complex workflows on workflow management tools like Airflow, AWS Data pipeline, etc.
- It would be beneficial if you have experience in developing custom integration layers in Python through REST and SOAP API’s architectures.
- You must have strong technical abilities to understand, design, write, and debug complex code in Python, Spark, and SQL.
- Experience of server management and optimization on Cloud with Tableau would be a significant advantage
- Having a good understanding of data architecture related services on AWS and Snowflake would be a significant advantage.
- Having good data analysis skills using SQL or Python.
- Being able to work independently and apply your knowledge, experience, and judgment to achieve well-defined goals.
- This role requires meticulous communication and documentation skills. You should be able to discuss projects with remotely located managers and perform well in both in-person and remote team situations.

- Analyzing and optimizing the existing data architecture using best practices.
- Recognizing, analyzing, and integrating various data source systems used across the organization.
