Key Responsibilities for Senior Data Engineer

As a Senior Data Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:

• Designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Fabric.
• Implementing data storage solutions leveraging Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake, and other Azure services.
• Developing and managing ETL processes to ensure accurate and efficient data processing.
• Collaborating with data analysts and stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
• Building and maintaining data models and warehouses for business intelligence and reporting needs.
• Creating and optimizing complex SQL queries for data retrieval and manipulation.
• Implementing data security and compliance measures.
• Documenting data architecture, processes, and workflows.
• Utilizing Power BI and Power Query to develop interactive reports and dashboards.
• Working with innovative technologies like Fabric and IoT.
• Engaging with diverse users including business leaders, engineers, and scientists to tailor data solutions.
• Handling data in formats such as Parquet, JSON, and other common formats.
• Monitoring and optimizing data storage and processing costs.
• Ensuring high availability, reliability, and performance of data systems.

Qualifications and Requirements

To excel in this role, you should have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
• Strong proficiency in Azure services including Azure Data Factory, Pipelines, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Data Lake.
• Experience with ETL tools and processes.
• Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational databases; knowledge of big-data modeling concepts such as Star/Snowflake Schemas.
• Proficiency in Power BI and Power Query for data visualization and reporting.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
• Understanding of data ops principles for data transformation and curation.
• Familiarity with IoT platforms and data integration from various devices.
• Experience with cost monitoring and optimization in cloud environments.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work.

Working Conditions
