Role Overview

As a Senior Data Engineer with the Sydney-based Wild Rift Data team, you'll influence and shape the data architecture and systems that deliver exceptional experiences to millions of players. You'll tackle diverse project areas, from player-facing features powered by machine learning to data-focused tools that enhance game design.

Core Responsibilities:

• Developing complex data models to meet both current and future needs, focusing on the accessibility of large datasets.
• Designing and implementing architectures that support advanced analytics, machine learning models, and real-time data processing, ensuring scalability and performance.
• Creating advanced ETL processes and data integration strategies for various data sources and formats.
• Collaborating closely with Game, Insights, and Publishing teams across China, Singapore, and the US to meet their data needs and offer efficient solutions.
• Analyzing existing systems to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, then optimizing data flows and processing for high-volume datasets.
• Contributing to initiatives in data governance, data quality, and metadata management, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and security.
• Exploring and evaluating new technologies to continuously enhance the data platform's capabilities.
• Communicating complex data concepts and the intrinsic value of data projects to partners across teams.

Required Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience developing scalable data systems.
• Proficiency in Data Modeling and Data Warehousing.
• Experience in Data Analytics using tools like SQL and Spark.
• Skills in Data Engineering technologies such as Airflow, Databricks, and programming languages like Python and Java.
• Experience with the complete software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and ongoing operation.
• Expertise in cloud computing technologies (AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure).
• Proven ability to collaborate with product and engineering teams to design data-focused solutions.
• Experience with agile project management frameworks.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with data processing technologies like Kafka, HDFS, Hive, and NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible).
• Fluency in English and Mandarin.
