Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Developer to join our Common Data Intelligence HUB virtual team at T-Systems Germany. The Common Data Intelligence HUB consists of roughly 100 committed professionals working on developing business intelligence solutions and open datasets for T-Systems. Our team primarily aims to provide valuable insights and analytics for the international business steering of T-Systems.

The successful candidate will work alongside colleagues from Germany, Slovakia, Spain, and Hungary in a virtual international environment. You'll have the opportunity to work independently on features as part of an agile team. You'll work on business intelligence solutions that affect T-Systems worldwide and help develop our modern data platform that will eventually accommodate thousands of end-users. WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Architect, design, and implement robust, scalable, and optimized data solutions using Azure Services like Databricks, Synapse, Data Factory and Storage as well as technologies like Delta Lake, SPARK, Python, SQL.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure data solutions align with their business needs and objectives.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize SPARK-powered data processing pipelines, utilising Databricks for complex data engineering tasks and ensuring smooth integration with other platform components.
  • Implement, monitor, and optimize pipelines using Azure Data Factory.
  • Design and manage /ELT processes, ensuring data integrity, availability, and performance.
  • Implement efficient data ingestion mechanisms using Azure Storage and Azure Data Factory.
  • Manage and monitor data sources to ensure timely and accurate data delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, business users, and IT teams.
  • Contribute to data governance and quality using tools like Databricks Unity Catalog.
  • Uphold industry standards and enforce stringent data security and privacy protocols.
  • Mentor junior data engineers and share expertise and best practices.

The overall purpose of this position is to develop new and maintain existing source code for applications in programming languages like Java, ASP.Net, or C# based on internal or external customer requirements.

Qualifications

YOU WILL SUCCEED IF YOU:

  • Have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of data engineering experience, with at least 2 years of hands-on experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, and Azure services.
  • Have a proven track record of transitioning from traditional warehousing to modern data platform architectures.
  • Possess mastery in SQL and Python for data processing and development.
  • Are proficient in SPARK-based data processing.
  • Have insight into batch and streaming data ingestion.
  • Have experience with Delta Lake architectures and their integration with Azure Storage Gen2.
  • Possess expertise in Azure Data Factory for pipeline orchestration.

Salary

The final is negotiable.

We will offer a base salary based on the candidate's seniority level and previous experience. In addition to the base salary, we provide variable parts and other financial bonuses. The base salary will not be less than €3100 gross. We also offer a sign-on bonus of €5,000 for each candidate hired for this position.
