As a Senior Data Quality Analyst, you'll be a key player in S&P Global Commodity Insight’s mission to transform from a traditional data organization into a cutting-edge data intelligence organization. Your role will be crucial in ensuring high-quality, trusted data across the organization by improving data quality dimensions for critical data assets. This position requires collaboration with stakeholders, analysts, and international team members.
The Impact
Your efforts will contribute to major strategic initiatives to enhance our market leadership, developing next-generation market data, insights, and analytics products. You will drive our linked data and data mining strategy by using advanced technology, ultimately supporting organizational and operational change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operational execution of data quality priorities including data quality rules, anomaly detection, validation, and issue resolution.
- Translate business requirements into data quality requirements, validate results, and coordinate issue resolution with data subject matter experts.
- Partner with technical teams to prioritize data sets for ingestion into data quality tools and ensure proper setup.
- Author and execute reusable custom data quality rules.
- Capture data-driven metrics to highlight business value and improvement opportunities.
- Pursue data quality integration and automation within internal applications and dashboards.
- Contribute to data quality and governance standards by improving best practices and advancing data platforms.
- Advocate for achieving fit-for-purpose data quality and program objectives in new projects.
- Engage with stakeholders and data stewards through training, education, and knowledge sharing.
- Stay updated on industry trends within data quality and broad data management.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in data management with a focus on data quality, including data profiling, rule development, and automation.
- 2+ years of experience with data quality tools such as soda.io, Great Expectations, or Informatica IDQ.
- Proficiency in SQL and strong experience in Python/pyspark for data analysis and automation.
- Strong experience with Power BI reporting tools.
- Working knowledge of Airflow is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Familiarity with agile development lifecycle frameworks and tools like Jira or Rally.
- Ability to work effectively as part of an international team and independently.
- Thrive in fast-paced environments with strong problem-solving skills.
