What we need!
We are searching for a Data Scientist to join the Data Science team!
You will participate in a variety of projects, predominantly hands-on, but also through planning and coordinating with the rest of the team. You will also assist the team to enhance operationally and contribute to our team's vision. Be part of a team with a wide array of talent where you will be able to enhance and grow.
The task of the Data Science team is to manage the entire ML ecosystem of Orfium. We take care of everything starting from experimentation and research to development of production-ready ML systems, which we then deploy with aid of our engineers.
The projects we work on emerge from a variety of teams and enable us to use a broad range of techniques and methods. Historically, some of the areas we have worked on include audio and video recognition, metadata matching and general NLP, tagging and classification.
We are on the hunt for a self-reliant Data Scientist who takes pleasure in ownership but also enjoys working as part of a team striving towards a set of shared objectives.
What you will be doing!
- Staying current with the state of the art in all relevant fields.
- Owning projects and leading them to successful completion.
- Communicating and presenting results.
- Working with and improving the team’s best practices.
- Working closely with the MLOps/Software engineering team for the deployment of your work.
- Assisting and contributing to the team vision, hiring and overall planning.

Requirements
What you need to be successful!
- 3 years of working experience in a data science or similar team
- Proficiency in Python programming language and Machine Learning libraries and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, , scikit-learn, or similar)
- Comfortable with ML and DS techniques and have a good understanding of the state-of-the-art technologies.
- Curious and interested in new technologies and approaches.
- Analytical and with the ability to set requirements and break problems into smaller tasks.
- BSc in Computer Science or Engineering or related field.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- English language (verbal & written)
Extra points!
- Masters relevant to machine learning or data science.
- Prior experience with big data or high throughput systems.
- Prior work experience in a cloud-native environment (preferably AWS).
- Experience with approximate nearest neighbors methods and vector databases.
