Description The Senior Data Scientist will be a part of a team that uses predictive modelling and analytics to assist Humana's HQRI (Healthcare Quality & Reporting Improvement) department. This team specializes in risk adjustment modelling for Medicare, Commercial, and Medicaid businesses. The HQRI department, a critical and high-performance entity within Humana, depends on this team for operational and financial projections based on data science. Responsibilities The Senior Data Scientist in this role will facilitate risk adjustment decision making through predictive analytics. They will deliver practical, accurate, and dependable solutions to the business needs of our operations and finance partners. They will prioritize the customer, delivering punctual and clearly communicated results. Objectives: - Understand and run at least two of our significant models within six months. - Within a year, enhance our models by improving efficiency, constructing a new model/process, or heightening the precision of an existing model. Responsibilities: - Use mathematics, statistics, and programming to generate forecasts that guide risk adjustment operations and strategy. - Cultivate collaborative working relationships with peers and supervisors. - Present complex information in the most useful format to the customer, using tables, charts, graphs, filters, etc., to highlight the most critical aspects of the data. - Always seek to understand customers’ needs and work in collaboration with customers to create solutions that fulfill these needs. The role will be Hybrid Home; implying two days in the office and three days of remote work in a week. Required Qualifications - A Bachelor's Degree and three or more years of data analytics experience. - Proficiency in one of the following: SQL, SAS, R, or Python. - Experience in using mathematics, statistics, modeling, business analysis, and technology to convert high volumes of complex data into advanced analytic solutions. - Ability to exercise independent judgment requiring the analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action. Additional Information Work-At-Home Requirements: To ensure the effectiveness of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates' work, their internet service must meet the following criteria: - A minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; a wireless, wired cable, or DSL connection is suggested. - Satellite, cellular, and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership. - Associates living and working from Home in California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will receive a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense. - Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job. - Work should be conducted from a dedicated space free from ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
