Role Overview: Senior Analytics Engineer, Safety

Reddit is poised to rapidly innovate and grow, making user safety a critical accelerant of that growth. As an analytics engineering lead in our Safety data science team, you'll lead a team of full-stack data scientists and perform hands-on execution to create a first-class Safety data warehouse and tools. Your work will provide customized solutions, meet evolving needs, and enhance metric reporting, regulatory compliance, product insights, and enforcement insights.

Responsibilities:

  • Design data pipelines and tooling based on user needs, collaborating with Safety data scientists, Product and Engineering teams, Trust & Safety Policy, and Legal.
  • Own and enhance metric reporting, metric validation, and new metric development for Reddit's transparency and regulatory reporting.
  • Audit and revamp data warehouses to improve data quality, trustworthiness, and pipeline observability.
  • Increase team efficiency through automation, ETL frameworks, and scalable processes.
  • Collaborate with company-wide data science teams to build shared data frameworks and tooling.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Python and strong SQL skills.
  • 4+ years of experience with large-scale ETL systems.
  • 4+ years of professional experience coding in Python in a production environment.
  • Experience as a database administrator or architect with large-scale data warehouse systems like Google BigQuery.
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with Airflow or similar ETL tools in a production environment.
  • Experience with public/regulatory metric reporting.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for equity in the form of restricted stock units and may include commission, depending on the role. We provide base pay ranges for all US-based job postings regardless of state. Final offer amounts are determined by several factors, including skills, experience, and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below. The base pay range for this position is $190,800—$267,100 USD.
