Team Overview

The Tech Data Excellence team is dedicated to building cutting-edge machine learning models to enhance our response to technology failures and manage risks across the enterprise. Using advanced techniques like regression, anomaly detection, and causal inference, we work to prevent failures and secure our internal network.

Role Description

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will:

• Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to develop products our customers love.
• Utilize a diverse technology stack — including Python, Conda, AWS, and Spark — to extract insights from extensive numeric and textual data.
• Develop machine learning models through all phases: design, training, evaluation, validation, implementation, and monitoring.
• Communicate complex technical concepts into clear business outcomes for stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or holding a Bachelor’s Degree with 2 years of data analytics experience, or a Master’s/PhD with expected completion by the start date.
• At least 1 year of experience with open-source programming languages for large-scale data analysis.
• At least 1 year of experience with machine learning.
• At least 1 year of experience with relational databases.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in “STEM” fields plus 3 years of data analytics experience, or a PhD in “STEM” fields.
• At least 1 year of experience with AWS.
• At least 2 years of experience with Python, PyTorch, Scala, or R.
• At least 2 years of experience with machine learning.
• At least 2 years of experience with SQL.
