Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Lead Data Engineer, you will:

• Provide insights and recommendations on data management, governance, and security, ensuring high standards in data acquisition, maintenance, validation, and utilization.
• Design and implement reliable data storage solutions for data collection, storage, access, and analytics in a secure and scalable environment.
• Develop and maintain a Lake house model to support thousands of data analysts and scientists.
• Enhance fine-grain access controls across diversified platforms.
• Facilitate data consumption using various Business Intelligence tools on cloud platforms.
• Regularly evaluate and report on access control processes to ensure effective data security.
• Contribute to a team culture that promotes diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Required Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you need:

• Formal training or certification in data engineering and at least 5 years of practical experience.
• Proficiency in working with both relational and NoSQL databases.
• Advanced knowledge of database backup, recovery, and archiving strategies.
• Experience in supporting large-scale data platforms in both cloud and on-premise environments.
• Strong technical skills in AWS data stack tools such as EMR, Glue, Lake Formation, Athena, and Red Shift.
• Proficiency in Big Data technologies and Spark.
• Strong development experience in Java or Python.
• Advanced understanding of linear algebra, statistics, and geometrical algorithms.
• Proficiency in Business Intelligence tools and data presentation.

Preferred Qualifications

Additional valuable skills include:

• Experience in building APIs.
• Knowledge in infrastructure as code, especially Terraform.
