Role Description:

As a pivotal member of the SIML Data team, you will leverage advanced Apple technologies to enhance dataset quality, execute ML-based QA processes, and eradicate toxicity while selecting optimal multimedia elements. This role encompasses a diverse array of responsibilities, including text, image, and video analytics, data deduplication, and synthesis across various modalities.

Your skill set will be vital in advancing our machine learning capabilities and understanding how these technologies can significantly improve the functionality and efficiency of Apple ML models in our products. You will collaborate closely with other AI/ML stakeholders within Apple to design models that are not only innovative but optimally attuned to our unique datasets.

Key Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or Applied Scientist, particularly within a tech-based organization.
• Expertise with a spectrum of Machine Learning methodologies and statistical tools.
• Experience in coding for production environments and prototyping algorithmic ideas.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Python, PyTorch, SQL, and Git.
• A robust portfolio showcasing experiences in data science, analytics, and the utilization of statistical data analysis.

Your Impact:

In this vital role, you'll help mold Apple’s AI datasets specifically curated for generative AI by purging irrelevant or toxic data, selecting appropriate assets using novel selection algorithms, and synthesizing brand-new datasets with Apple’s proprietary ML models. You'll also streamline these models into data pipelines to optimize their efficiency across extensive datasets.

Your innovative decisions in creating and managing these datasets will play a critical role daily, influencing the quality and capabilities of Apple’s machine learning applications.

Education & Experience:

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Engineering is required. Master’s or PhD degrees, or equivalent professional experience, are highly preferable.

Pay & Benefits:

At Apple, the compensation package is designed to be competitive, engaging, and inclusive. The pay range for this role is $170,700 - $256,500, based on your unique qualifications, skills, and experiences.
