The Insights, Data Engineering & Analytics (IDEAs) Team at Microsoft is a key player in the data science domain, serving the M365 engineering and marketing departments. As one of Microsoft's largest data science groups, our team is responsible for the end-to-end Machine Learning (ML) and decision sciences charter, driving actionable insights critical for business decisions across M365.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop advanced machine learning models (e.g., behavior segmentation, churn prediction, purchase propensity, recommendation engines, causal inference).
• Identify and explore applications for machine learning, AI, and predictive analysis across product, marketing, sales, and engineering teams.
• Collaborate with engineers to architect and develop scalable operational models.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Drive self-directed initiatives and solve challenging problems innovatively.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate in Statistics, Math, Computer Science, or a related field, with relevant experience.
• Experience with statistical models, machine learning, and big data analysis.
• Proficiency in SQL, R, Python for implementing statistical models and machine learning.

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft and governmental security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud background check.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degrees with more significant experience in relevant fields.
• Additional experience with large-scale computing systems like COSMOS, Hadoop, and MapReduce.
• Programming skills in Java, C#, and familiarity with deep learning toolkits like CNTK, TensorFlow.

Salary and Benefits

The typical base pay for this role in the U.S. ranges from $117,200 to $229,200 annually. In specific locations such as the San Francisco Bay area and New York City, the range is $153,600 to $250,200 annually. Additional benefits and compensation information can be found .
