Job Title: Senior Manager, Data Science Engineering

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager to lead our Data Science team within the Analytics & AI division. As a Data Science leader, you will guide and manage teams of data scientists, helping them identify the most impactful use cases, relevant models, best technologies for implementation, and clearest modes of communication for the application at hand. You will collaborate with product and engineering leaders across the company to influence strategies and decisions.

About the Team

The data science team is dedicated to harnessing machine learning to address some of the most challenging problems in healthcare. We collaborate with product and engineering leaders across the company to integrate machine learning into our Best In KLAS suite of products. Additionally, we partner with platform engineers to deploy state-of-the-art machine learning models using cloud technologies.

Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)

  • Build team culture, HR policies, and hiring standards.
  • Direct people management and career pathing responsibilities for a team of data scientists.
  • Actively participate in recruiting and interviewing to grow the data science team.
  • Evaluate the latest in analytics and machine learning technologies and incorporate them into our data science strategy.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest data science techniques and integrate them into daily work.
  • Oversee technical execution and project management for one or more scrum teams to deliver business value for our customers.

Education & Experience Required

  • Advanced degree (PhD, MS) in a relevant field such as physics, math, or computer science.
  • Excellent verbal communication and business writing skills.
  • 9+ years of professional experience in data science or a related role.
  • 5+ years of management experience in data science or a related role.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Healthcare experience preferred but not required.
  • Agile/Scrum methodology experience preferred.
  • Experience developing machine learning algorithms and predictive models.
  • AWS experience preferred.
