Your Next Role: Senior Machine Learning Operations Engineer (Remote)

We are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Operations Engineer to help build and enhance our Machine Learning Platform, ensuring it keeps pace with best-in-class models in the field. Your expertise in ML Operations will be crucial to transforming our machine learning approach and advancing our technological capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and operate a new ML Data platform that scales with our product strategy and addresses current limitations.
  • Define and manage tables and transformations in Delta Lake to support data and ML pipelines.
  • Design, implement, and optimize APIs for ML model deployment.
  • Collaborate with ML Engineers and product teams to integrate machine learning models into production environments.
  • Ensure AI services' reliability, observability, availability, and performance.
  • Make key decisions on implementing machine learning and computer vision, shaping Unitary's future.

Requirements

The ideal candidate is a proactive Machine Learning expert, unafraid to present and try new ideas, and comfortable leading change management efforts. A product mindset and genuine curiosity for solving customer challenges are essential.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong Python and Data Engineering skills with comprehensive experience in implementing production-orchestrated ML pipelines.
  • Ability to design and implement robust performance data architectures, engaging a broad audience on their effective use.
  • Passion for uncovering and addressing developer pain points with effective tooling solutions.
  • Experience creating new inference/training pipelines and frameworks for product ML models, including generative models like LLMs, VLMs, and LAMs.
  • Knowledge of deploying infrastructure through K8s, with some hands-on deployment experience.
  • Enjoys collaborating in team environments where collective achievements are valued over individual contributions.
  • Willingness to travel to London quarterly for company offsites.

Additional Preferred Experience

  • Experience in a fully remote, international team.
  • Previous start-up experience.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools like GitHub Actions.
  • Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.
  • Experience with LLMs and a keen interest in the latest AI advancements.

This role reports to the VP of Engineering and can be located anywhere within 3 hours of the UK time zone.
