The GenAI Studio is a cutting-edge initiative co-led by Strategy and Data Science. Our mission is to responsibly experiment and make informed decisions about generative AI, aiming to leverage innovation to benefit students, educators, and members. We are a diverse, cross-functional team consisting of strategists, technologists, and project/product managers working urgently and entrepreneurially to solve significant problems within the organization.

About the Opportunity

Position: Senior Product Manager, Generative AI

As a Senior Product Manager at our GenAI Studio, you will spearhead the vision, strategy, and roadmap for a portfolio of AI-driven products aimed at addressing issues faced by students and educators. You have a passion for applying innovative ideas and technologies to tackle challenging real-world problems. As an early-adopter, you are eager to identify high-value applications for emerging tools and technology. You are versatile, adaptable, and comfortable navigating uncertainties and ambiguities, and you can push forward even when information is incomplete.

This highly visible role reports directly to the head of College Board’s GenAI Studio and offers substantial opportunities to collaborate with program leaders (AP, SAT, BigFuture) and executive leadership (such as the President and CTO). You have the potential to significantly improve learning and instruction for millions of students and thousands of educators through the use of AI.

In this role, you will:

New Product Strategy and Roadmap Development (35%)

  • Identify student and educator needs and pain points to devise AI-driven product solutions for College Board programs and services.
  • Develop and prioritize product initiatives, creating a dynamic product roadmap.
  • Identify the most critical problems to solve and prioritize addressing them for large-scale success.
  • Proactively define and communicate Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to drive outcome-focused actions.

Feature Delivery and Implementation (50%)

  • Deliver high-priority products aligned with the product strategy as outlined in the roadmap.
  • Oversee product features through the entire lifecycle: ideation, specification, development, release, analysis, and iteration.
  • Evaluate trade-offs between competing choices and make data-driven recommendations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with a dedicated team of Data Scientists, UX Leads, and Business Analysts.
  • Design and manage approaches to gather rapid feedback for iterative improvements.
  • Workshop new ideas with immediate team members and stakeholders.
  • Communicate product updates to internal stakeholders, including executive audiences.
  • Scale the team capacity as needed as products gain momentum.

Learning, Ideating, and Sharing (15%)

  • Stay informed about the evolving needs of educators and students as Generative AI reshapes the U.S. education landscape.
  • Understand the needs and strategies of College Board programs to align GenAI product strategies.
  • Study key GenAI initiatives of other educational organizations.
  • Share new developments and insights with the team through chats, meetings, and presentations as appropriate.

About You

You have:

  • 8+ years of relevant experience with a proven track record of managing products from inception to launch.
  • Product management experience, preferably at a startup or in a new problem/opportunity area within an established organization.
  • A deep curiosity and passion for learning about new areas, particularly in the Education sector or GenAI.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to use both quantitative and qualitative data to solve problems.
  • A strong understanding of structural inequities in America, particularly in education.
  • The ability to work collaboratively on teams and across diverse perspectives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.
