About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining low latency, high-throughput systems essential for powering almost all ML models at Lyft. This involves generating, storing, and serving ML features for various applications such as payments fraud, driver and rider incentives, and mapping. Your technical expertise will allow you to manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and maintain scalable systems for ML feature storage and retrieval.
• Enhance our data platform by integrating cutting-edge technologies like Redis, DynamoDB, and OpenSearch.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to weave feature service solutions into our broader data architecture.
• Analyze and improve internal systems and processes through automation and optimization.
• Work closely with product organization stakeholders to address and prioritize unique cases.
• Lead and execute large projects from inception to successful completion.

Required Experience

• At least 5 years experience in building and maintaining low latency, high throughput services.
• Proven expertise in developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems, or networks.
• Minimum of 3 years in software engineering with familiarity in storage technologies like DynamoDB, Redis, OpenSearch.
• Experience with Kubernetes, container technologies, and cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure).

Salary and Schedule

The role offers a competitive salary range of $144,000 - $180,000, excluding potential equity, bonuses, or additional benefits. This hybrid position requires presence in the office three days a week, with up to four weeks a year of remote work flexibility.
