Role Overview

We invite you to apply for the role of Senior Engineer within our Research Engineering team. Your efforts will be crucial in collaborating with our fraud research analysts and data scientists. You will tackle complex challenges, enhance our petabyte-scale data utility, and contribute directly to our mission of driving innovation in digital transaction security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain advanced tools and frameworks utilizing both Forter's proprietary and publicly available data.
  • Enable data-driven enhancements and broaden the scope of Forter's product offerings.
  • Work in a collaborative environment with colleagues from diverse backgrounds including Analysts, Data Scientists, and Engineers.
  • Devise data models and define storage strategies to optimize data accessibility and research efficiency.
  • Optimize data access and query performance to support expanding datasets and increasingly complex research scenarios.
  • Manage projects independently from conceptualization to completion, ensuring high standards in system reliability and data integrity.
  • Analyze and resolve complex issues within the operational stack.

What We’re Looking For

  • Extensive experience in designing and managing large-scale production environments.
  • Proven analytical capabilities with a strong background in software development (Python / Node.js / Scala).
  • Expertise in Spark and SQL, with experience managing various databases (MySQL, Elasticsearch, Redshift, etc.).
  • Familiarity with cloud services, preferably AWS.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.

Desirable Skills:
Experience with managed Spark deployments (AWS EMR, Azure Databricks), development using notebooks (Jupyter, Databricks), and basic machine learning techniques would be beneficial.
