Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Tax Data Analyst for a fixed-term contract until May 2025. In this pivotal role, you will lead a comprehensive data gathering initiative across Syngenta's global affiliates to support our strategic tax project, the "Foreign Tax Credits (FTC) Model". Your keen numerical skills, project management expertise, and attention to detail will significantly contribute to the project's success.

As a Senior Tax Data Analyst, you will:

  • Lead and coordinate the financial and tax data collection process across multiple Syngenta affiliates, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for local finance teams, offering clear instructions on data requirements and submission processes.
  • Support tax modeling activities by providing accurate and up-to-date data inputs, along with analytical insights and recommendations.
  • Ensure the accuracy of financial data input in the FTC model and perform data reconciliations.
  • Investigate special transactions or unusual items in close collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Address any data gaps, discrepancies, or delays by following up with local teams.
  • Assist in the development and optimization of the FTC calculation model, enhancing its efficiency and performance.
  • Identify opportunities for model enhancements to ensure scalability and handle the complex organizational structure of Syngenta.

You will be a perfect fit if you have:

  • A university degree in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Financial Reporting, Taxation, or Data Analysis roles.
  • The ability to understand and interpret financial statements and tax returns across various accounting standards and languages.
  • Proven project management skills to coordinate global data collection efforts efficiently.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, and the ability to work with complex financial data sets.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel), financial modeling, and macro development.
  • Experience in mathematical modeling, algorithm development, and simulations (advantageous).
  • High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across different locations and time zones.
