Expert-Level Data Scientist - Poly Clearance Required

Role Overview

The Expert-level Data Scientist at Praxis Engineering will leverage advanced programmatic and quantitative methods to uncover patterns and relationships in large data sets. This role involves conducting mathematical, statistical, and data-driven analysis to address business operations or intelligence questions posed by internal and external customers. The position requires working independently with minimal supervision from the first-line supervisor or government client.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently compile data to resolve the most complex intelligence issues for senior internal and external customers.
  • Provide accurate, timely, and sophisticated data analysis to support key Agency, US national security, and foreign policy objectives.
  • Create and communicate a wide range of complex graphics, computational models/tools, and assessments to internal and external customers, including policymakers and IC components.
  • Manage projects and associated resources effectively.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Technical Skills

  • Applied mathematics (e.g., probability and statistics, formal modeling, computational social sciences)
  • Computer programming (e.g., programming languages, math/statistics packages, computer science, machine learning, scientific computing)
  • Visualization tools (e.g., GIS/geospatial analysis, telemetry analysis)

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to leverage multiple data management tools
  • Intellectual curiosity and creativity for innovative problem-solving

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in a quantitative or technical field
  • Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, physical science, or a related field
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with an appropriate polygraph
