Who You Are
- Experienced in production-grade web applications and backend improvements using languages like Python and Go
- Skilled in building tools and platforms for business users and software developers
- Knowledgeable about cloud platforms and services
- Proficient in crafting full-stack applications, encompassing UI/UX, API design, databases, and more

What You Will Do
- Design and develop UI, API, and other data platform services for users like analysts, data scientists, and software engineers
- Collaborate closely with product design teams to enhance internal data platform services, focusing on UI/UX
- Review code with peers and recommend improvements to our code and software development processes
- Create boilerplate architecture that abstracts underlying data infrastructure from end-users
- Enhance the team's testing and development processes
- Document and share best practices with the larger team
- Drive optimization, testing, and tooling to boost data platform quality
- Work collaboratively with software engineers, machine learning experts, and stakeholders, seizing learning and leadership opportunities daily
Bonus Points
- Experience with modern JavaScript environments, including frontend frameworks like React and TypeScript
- Familiarity with data infrastructure and tools such as Presto, Hive, Spark, and BigQuery
- Knowledge of deployment and configuration tools like Kubernetes, Drone, and Terraform
- Interest in web design and experience working directly with product designers
- Experience designing and building microservices
- Experience in building machine learning platforms using tools such as SparkML, TensorFlow, and Seldon Core
Success Measures
- In three months: You will have familiarized yourself with our data platform services, made regular contributions to our codebase, collaborated with stakeholders, resolved incidents, and responded to user requests.
- In six months: You will have successfully scoped, executed, and documented a small to medium-sized project, significantly enhancing user experiences by implementing platform service improvements.
- In a year: You will be a key figure for multiple projects within the team, contributing to the data platform’s roadmap and MongoDB’s data-driven journey. You will regularly seek to improve the stability and scalability of our architecture.
