Job Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer III, you will:
- Execute software solutions, including design, development, and technical troubleshooting with innovative approaches.
- Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with relevant systems.
- Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring software code meets design constraints.
- Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large and diverse data sets to improve software applications and systems.
- Proactively identify hidden issues and patterns in data to enhance coding hygiene and system architecture.
- Contribute to software engineering communities of practice, exploring new and emerging technologies.
- Foster a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and design appropriate solutions.
- Work effectively in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals.
- Provide expert problem-solving and complex data analysis to address data issues and provide solutions.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Proficiency in coding in one or more languages (Python, Java, Scala, Unix, AWS services).
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming and database querying languages.
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
- Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes in areas like cloud, AI, machine learning, or mobile.
- Hands-on experience with Big Data/Distributed/cloud technologies (AWS Big Data services, including Lambda, Glue, EMR, Spark Architecture, Performance Tuning, Spark SQL, Streaming, Kafka, Entitlements, etc.).
- Experience with relational database environments (Starburst, Redshift, Oracle, SQL Server) and advanced SQL programming/complex queries.

- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies.
