Job Responsibilities

  • Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with innovative approaches.
  • Create secure, high-quality production code, and maintain algorithms compatible with appropriate systems.
  • Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while ensuring design constraints are met.
  • Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets for continuous improvement.
  • Identify hidden problems and patterns in data to improve coding hygiene and system architecture.
  • Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and explore new and emerging technologies.
  • Enhance team culture by promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering with 3+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Proficient in Java 8+ and Python with strong debugging skills.
  • Experience with coding in large corporate environments, including various modern programming and database querying languages.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, security, and AWS public cloud deployments.
  • Expertise in technical disciplines like cloud, AI, machine learning, and mobile technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS Glue, AWS Athena, EMR, Lambda, Step-functions with API Gateway, AWS ECS, AWS EKS, AWS Fargate, Kubernetes, AWS S3, AWS EC2, and AWS Lake Formation.
  • Big data expertise in Apache Spark ETL, Snowflake, and performant SQL code/stored procedures.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, QlikView, QuickSight.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Strong AWS cloud experience and cloud certification.
  • Experience with Big Data tools like Py-Spark and DataBricks.
  • Familiarity with reliability practices and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, and Datadog.
  • Hands-on experience with Bitbucket, Terraform, Jenkins, Artifactory, Datadog, and ServiceNow.
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and IT systems, including cloud-native experience.
  • Hands-on experience with testing, releasing, and CI/CD pipeline deployments in AWS public cloud.
