Sr. Data Analyst Job Opportunity at COHO Consulting Group

COHO Consulting Group is actively seeking a Sr. Data Analyst to provide crucial process and data analysis support for a federal customer process improvement contract. The role focuses on enhancing operational efficiency through comprehensive process and data analysis, improvement recommendations, metric development and monitoring, dashboard and data visualization, and workflow automation support. The Sr. Data Analyst will report directly to the Program Manager and lead the data team, working closely with business and communications analysts to align the metrics program with organizational changes, strategic plans, and process improvements.

Job Location

This role is hybrid, with an on-site presence required 2 days/week in Arlington, VA, and remote work for the remaining 3 days, subject to government project/meeting schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain leading-edge analytic systems to simplify complex problems.
  • Identify trends and opportunities to enable data-driven decisions through analysis of complex data sets.
  • Evaluate organizational methods and provide source-to-target mappings and information-model specification documents for data sets.
  • Work closely with client leadership and program manager to identify critical metrics and KPIs, and deliver actionable insights to decision-makers.
  • Proactively analyze data to answer key stakeholder questions or investigate areas for improvement in efficiency and productivity.
  • Define and implement data acquisition and integration logic, ensuring optimal scalability and performance.
  • Develop and maintain databases, acquiring data from primary and secondary sources, and build scripts to enhance data evaluation processes.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.

Required Knowledge & Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience as a data analyst.
  • Proven analytic skills including mining, evaluation, analysis, and visualization.
  • Technical writing experience for queries, reports, and presentations.
  • Experience in data cleansing, preparation, exploration, analysis, and problem-solving through data visualizations and reports.
  • Proficiency in building dashboards and visualizations using PowerBI.
  • Strong SQL or Excel skills with the aptitude to learn other analytic tools.
  • Proven track record in providing data visualization that communicates results clearly and concisely to stakeholders.

Preferred Knowledge & Experience

  • Prior experience with database and model design and segmentation techniques.
  • Strong programming experience with frameworks including XML, Javascript, and ETL.
  • Practical experience in statistical analysis using packages such as Excel, SPSS, and SAS.
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification.
  • Understanding of the Baldrige Framework.
