Join Our Team as a Senior Data Analytics Engineer

American National is seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analytics Engineer to join our dynamic team in League City, TX. This pivotal role concentrates on developing and maintaining sophisticated data pipelines, workflow management tools, and orchestration systems within our P&C Operations. As a Senior Data Analytics Engineer, you will delve into gaining a deeper understanding of our company and the broader industry, enhancing our Machine Learning capabilities from data wrangling to end-to-end optimization and support.

Key Responsibilities:

As part of our team, your duties will include:

  • Creating an innovative vision and strategy, formulating robust data architectures, and developing processes for new datasets.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across various business units to understand data structures, gather modeling data requirements, and assess data accuracy.
  • Developing automated data acquisition and data analysis processes and determining the best solutions to business issues.
  • Maintaining and optimizing development, test, and production environments, and operationalizing analytical models.
  • Gathering both structured and unstructured data for analysis using APIs and assisting in validating SQL queries.
  • Engaging in the selection of technological tools, designing common data acquisition processes, and innovating through new methodologies.

Who You Are:

To excel in this role, you would typically have the following qualifications:

Required: Bachelor's degree with four to six years of relevant experience. A master’s degree may substitute for part of the experience. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must.

Preferred: A Master’s degree in a field related to Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or Engineering. Proficiency in various programming languages like SQL, Python, R and familiarity with data management tools such as Spark, Hadoop. Experience in cloud-based platforms, preferably Azure, and a strong track record of leading complex, multi-disciplinary data projects.
