About the Role

Position: Sr. Data Architect - NextGen QMS

We are actively seeking a dedicated Data Architect to support Lilly’s transformative Quality Management System (QMS) program aimed at simplifying, standardizing, and modernizing our processes.

Key Responsibilities

Architectural Leadership

• Develop comprehensive data architectural designs and strategies for data products, analytics, and AI solutions.
• Lead scalable, robust, and secure data architecture initiatives aligned with business objectives.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to ensure adherence to best practices.
• Act as a solution owner, focusing on non-functional requirements like alerting, monitoring, and logging.

Data Product Development

• Collaborate with product management and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Drive the life cycle of data products from ideation to deployment.
• Champion innovation in product development by exploring new technologies and methodologies.
• Lead product development pods to create data products.

AI Transformation Projects

• Lead AI and machine learning transformation projects to solve business challenges.
• Ensure successful integration of AI solutions into existing systems to drive business impact.
• Work with leadership teams to align AI solutions with operational needs and quality standards.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders for integrated solutions.
• Serve as an advisor to senior leadership on technology trends and strategic opportunities.
• Mentor junior team members to aid their technical skill development and project execution.

Vendor and Partner Engagement

• Collaborate with vendors and partners to leverage external expertise and technologies.
• Evaluate and select vendors that support data and AI initiatives to drive successful outcomes.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Proven communication, leadership, teamwork, and project delivery skills.
• Experience in architectural processes, data modelling, and cloud architecture principles.
• Understanding of external data standards and vocabularies (e.g., HL7, CDISC).
• Expertise in enterprise data domains, including data relationships and data quality.
• Proficiency in developing data products and AI solutions, with hands-on experience in AI/ML technologies.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field and at least 10 years in a senior-level solutions architecture role focused on data products and AI transformations.

Preferred Experience

• Knowledge of GxP and pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
• Experience in regulated environments and with internal quality policies and procedures.
