Sr Data Engineer - Role Overview:

Responsibilities:
As a Sr Data Engineer, you will perform general analytics and statistical modeling on data sets across different business areas including Market Economics, Supply Chain, Marketing/Advertising, Financial Services, and Scientific Research.

• Design, implement, and advocate for tools needed for data ingress, transformation, and orchestration.
• Define data requirements, collection, processing, cleaning, analysis, modeling, and visualization processes.
• Develop and enforce data warehousing standards and data transformation patterns.
• Analyze data patterns and trends to address business questions and improve decision-making.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to prioritize BI and reporting objectives.
• Guide data modeling efforts and mentor engineering and analytics teams.
• Contribute to complex Data Science and Big Data Mining projects.
• Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and automation in data analysis processes.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and bottlenecks in data warehouses, pipelines, or data lakes.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Ability to work in office four days a week, with the option to work from home one day a week.
• 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in a data-related field, including data engineering, data warehousing, business intelligence, data visualization, and/or data science.
• 2-3 years of experience using AWS tools such as Amazon Redshift, EMR, Athena, and RDS.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow.
• Experience with Postgres and MySQL databases.
• Experience with cloud or columnar data stores such as Redshift, Snowflake, or Hive/Presto.
• Ability to identify, repair, and troubleshoot data quality issues.
• Proficient in writing, understanding, and optimizing complex SQL.
• Experience supporting transformation tools such as DBT, Dataform, or AWS Glue in production.
• A strong desire to learn and experiment with new or emerging technologies.
• Keen attention to detail.
