Location
Flex Hybrid in Lenexa, KS or Chicago, IL. Remote work with some travel is also an option.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of ML engineers supporting our market surveillance program.
- Develop new machine learning concepts and experiments relevant to regulatory market surveillance.
- Prototype new ML concepts to guide implementation by the ML engineering team.
- Create and advocate for technical architectures that shorten ML experimentation and production cycles.
- Facilitate discussions with surveillance teams to refine ML concepts and follow through to implementation.
- Foster a culture of clear communication, documentation, and transparency around ML projects within the regulatory division.
- Inspire engineers to stay updated on the latest Machine Learning, Data Engineering, and Cloud Computing developments.
- Plan ML projects, assign tasks based on priority and skillset, and maintain up-to-date sprint plans.
- Provide regular status updates to stakeholders and proactively manage stakeholder relationships.
- Lead recruitment efforts for ML engineers and mentor direct reports to achieve individual and team excellence.
- Conduct performance planning and reviews following organizational and departmental guidelines.
- Participate in regulatory compliance procedures and ensure team compliance.
- Represent the ML team's technical needs to gain support from other engineering teams and the regulatory division.
Job Requirements
- Minimum eight years of technology management experience leading small application development teams in an enterprise environment.
- At least three years of hands-on experience training, tuning, and productionizing machine learning models.
- Proficiency in common machine learning frameworks, algorithms, and libraries.
- Hands-on experience with Python for large datasets.
- Experience using SQL for application development and data analysis.
- Development experience in AWS cloud with big data analytics and ML services like Amazon SageMaker and Amazon EMR is highly desired.
- Excellent communication skills and experience presenting to enterprise audiences.
- Experience using agile methodologies and test-driven development is highly desired.
- Exchange or market regulatory technology experience is a plus.
- Financial services industry experience is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field. A master's or Ph.D. degree is preferred.
Compensation:
As required by the New York City Human Rights Law, Cboe provides a competitive salary range of $200,000-$330,000 for roles performed in New York City. Actual compensation is influenced by geographic location, skillset, experience, etc. Additional incentive compensation and benefits may be available.
