Job Summary

This position is responsible for managing a team of Analytic Consultants and Data Scientists who support and advise engagements developed by HCSC’s C1 Innovation Lab. This team is tasked with developing advanced analytics to enhance the operational efficacy of the Lab, collaborating with senior-level resources to create new programs, partnerships, and products for enterprise-wide adoption.

The focus areas include addressing population health trends and financial impact opportunities while applying advanced mathematical and statistical concepts to analyze data and construct business solutions. You will perform complex statistical analyses to validate and quantify trends identified by business analysts, construct predictive models, and verify model and algorithm effectiveness based on real-world results.

This role also involves designing experiments to generate and collect data for business use, aiding tactical decision-making through predictive and prescriptive analytics, and extracting actionable insights from both structured and unstructured data.

Required Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of work experience in a mathematical, statistical, computer science, engineering, physics, economics, or related quantitative field; OR Actuarial credential or Master’s degree and 4 years of work experience in an advanced quantitative field; OR Ph.D. and 2 years of work experience in a relevant field; OR 8 years of work experience in an advanced quantitative field.
• 3 years of management and/or leadership experience.
• Leadership and/or management experience with a learning and growth mindset.
• Customer-focused with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications including Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Experience in at least five of the following six areas:
  • Data analysis and relational-style query languages
  • Machine learning and/or statistical modeling
  • Data visualization
  • A high-level programming language
  • Distributed computing
  • Understanding of healthcare
• A track record of independently delivering or leading the delivery of complex analytics or data science projects.
• Experience mentoring or managing junior analytics or data science staff.

Preferred Job Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative field, or bachelor's degree with significant healthcare experience.
