At Pacific Gas and Electric Company, we're seeking a Sr. Operations Data Analyst to join our innovative Electric Operations business unit. This hybrid role based in Oakland offers the opportunity to significantly impact our operational strategies by utilizing advanced data analysis techniques.

Job Summary

As an Operations Data Analyst, you will be responsible for extracting and managing operational data to support our leadership teams. Your tasks will include maintaining and updating operational tools & databases using data from various PG&E systems. You will help bridge the current data gaps by ensuring ease of access and consistent responsiveness to leadership inquiries.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage data-related projects from conception to completion, ensuring they stay within budget and are delivered on time.
• Automate routines for optimal data processing, reporting, and delivery, guaranteeing accurate data manipulation and cleansing.
• Analyze complex data sets using statistical tools to develop ad hoc reports, statistics, trends, and profiles.
• Ensure data integrity and reliability by implementing rigorous quality control processes.
• Use visualization tools like Power BI to present meaningful data insights.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve data collection and analysis processes.
• Provide strategic recommendations to enhance databases and data processes.

Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• BA/BS Degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 4 years of relevant professional experience.

Desired Skills:

• Understanding of utility operations and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Access.
• Ability to write sophisticated SQL queries and familiarity with Oracle or Business Objects.
• Proficiency in UNIX shell programming and a strong grasp of languages such as Visual Basic, Perl, C.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Experience with Jira for managing defects and testing processes.

Salary Range

We offer a competitive salary range reflective of the position's responsibilities and the candidate's experience and qualifications:

• Minimum Base Salary (Bay Area): $105,000.00
• Mid Base Salary (Bay Area): $137,000.00
• Maximum Base Salary (Bay Area): $169,000.00
