Opportunity Alert: Sr. Specialist, Data Engineering and Science

At Sony Electronics Inc., the role of Sr. Specialist, Data Engineering and Science is crucial in leveraging customer data for marketing efficacy and business growth. This position focuses on managing Sony's high-quality first-party customer data and enhancing our advanced analytics capabilities.

Reporting directly to the Manager of Data Platform Strategy and Data Science, you will be entrusted with driving our 1st party customer data management and development, ensuring our data's integrity and enhancing its analytical use to achieve strategic business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop data models/schemas, manage daily data operations, and monitor the quality and availability of data for analytics and marketing.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to resolve data issues, enhance data operations, and integrate new datasets into Sony's data environments.
  • Lead exploratory studies using advanced analytical methods including AI/ML to drive business decisions and develop predictive models.
  • Present analytical insights to stakeholders through clear visualizations and concise reports.

Who We Are Looking For:

Our ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Data Engineering, Big Data Analytics, or a related field, paired with several years of hands-on experience in data engineering and science techniques. You should be proficient in SQL, data mining, statistics, and using programming languages such as R or Python to manipulate data sets.

Experience with AWS cloud services, advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and BI tools like Power BI or Tableau will be valuable. A strong problem-solving aptitude and the ability to independently navigate a fast-paced environment are essential. Experience in managing cross-functional teams and vendor relationships internationally will be particularly advantageous.
