Job Description

The Financial Crimes Technology team at Cash App is dedicated to detecting and reporting illegal and suspicious activities. Collaborating globally with Product, Counsel, and Engineering teams, we aim to provide a safe user experience while minimizing platform misuse. We leverage Generative AI and Machine Learning to monitor billions of dollars in transactions, detecting suspicious activities such as money laundering and terms of service violations.

We are utilizing Generative AI technologies to enhance agent workflows, boosting productivity and enabling accurate decision-making. This role offers a unique opportunity to optimize Financial Crimes Operations at Cash App. As a Staff AI Modeler, you will own strategic roadmaps and drive priorities in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.

You Will:

• Experiment and deploy AI copilot solutions to improve agent productivity and reduce manual decision loops
• Manage the end-to-end pipeline, including API calls, prompt tuning, model fine-tuning, and integrating Gen AI output into production systems
• Accelerate label generation for traditional ML classification problems using LLMs
• Develop classification models to detect illegal activities across our platform
• Leverage diverse data sets to build ML and Generative AI models
• Work with ML engineers to deploy models to production and monitor performance
• Utilize Python ML stack, LLMs, Pytorch, Snowflake, Airflow tools, and cloud services (GCP & AWS) to accomplish tasks

Qualifications

You Have:

• 5+ years of Machine Learning modeling experience; full stack ML experience preferred
• A Master's or advanced degree in computer science, data science, operations research, applied math, stats, physics, or a related technical field
• Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and traditional NLP techniques
• Experience in building and deploying ML/AI systems at scale
• Proven ability to independently own and drive programs with significant business impact
• A curious, growth-oriented mindset with a knack for identifying creative solutions
