About the Marketing Analytics & Insights Team

The Marketing Analytics & Insights team at Okta plays a crucial role in optimizing marketing efforts, ensuring strong returns on investment, and shaping the overall strategy through deep analytical insights.

The Role

As our new Staff Data Analyst, reporting directly to the Director of Marketing Analytics & Insights, your expertise in data will drive strategy formulation through compelling, data-driven insights presented to leadership and various stakeholders. A significant part of your role will be to design, construct, and manage Tableau dashboards, providing critical data visualizations that serve as the foundation for strategic decision-making across our Marketing divisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage Tableau dashboards to monitor and analyze marketing performance and impacts.
  • Perform thorough data collection, processing, analysis, and visualization to support key business meetings including quarterly reviews and board presentations.
  • Consistently track and report on key Marketing performance indicators (KPIs), identifying trends, compiling analyses, and making strategic recommendations.
  • Liaise with Marketing Operations and Data & Insights teams to maintain data accuracy and develop new reporting functionalities.
  • Conduct regular meetings with marketing sub-teams to provide in-depth data analyses and foster data-driven decision-making processes.
  • Work collaboratively with the Marketing Strategy & Planning team to illustrate trends and support marketing strategy refinement.

What You’ll Bring

  • Over 5 years of relevant experience in data analysis, report creation, and trend visualization using various reporting tools, primarily Tableau.
  • Advanced proficiency in Tableau and Excel, and substantial experience with Salesforce.com.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills, with a proven track record of proactive problem-solving.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of conveying complex data in a clear and concise manner.
  • Background in Marketing Ops, Sales Ops, or Analytics is preferred; a BS/BA degree or equivalent is required.
