This position is for a Staff Data Engineer with solid development experience who will work on developing new capabilities for the AI Platform while improving our code base and development processes. In this role, you are primarily a skillful developer who can work in a dynamic environment as a member of Agile Scrum teams. Your robust technical leadership, problem-solving skills, coding, testing, and debugging abilities is just the beginning. You must be dedicated to filling the product backlog and delivering production-ready code. You must be ready to go beyond the routine and be willing to do a little bit of everything.

You will be an integral part of the development team, sometimes investigating new requirements and designing at times, and sometimes refactoring existing functionality for performance and maintainability. Always working on ways to enhance our efficiency and deliver better solutions to our customers. This role is for a self-organized individual with experience in web application and web service development. The candidate will perform hands-on tasks, including design, documentation, development, and testing of new features. The candidate must be flexible and willing to switch tasks based on the team's needs.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate between working remotely and from the office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (decided by leadership/site), with the general guideline of being in the office 50% or more of the time depending on business requirements.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expertise in one or all of the following: Python, Spark or Hadoop
  • Exposure to leading-edge areas such as Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Stream Computing, MLOps.
  • Experience with web service standards and related patterns (REST, gRPC)
  • Experience in developing large-scale, enterprise-class distributed systems or subsystems that require high availability, low-latency, and strict data consistency
  • Experience implementing solutions for low-latency, distributed services using open standard technologies.
  • Experience with Distributed caching technologies like Redis
  • Experience in developing proper metrics instrumentation in software components to help facilitate real-time and remote troubleshooting/performance monitoring.

Work Hours: Depend on the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires 5-10% travel.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 126,000.00 to 163,800.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
