Job Description

Enter the dynamic and rapidly evolving field of Authentication with Visa! As a part of our Risk and Identity team, you will dive into the world of identity, risk measurement, and consumer authentication. As a Staff Data Engineer, you will be an expert in design and development within a scrum team of 8-10 members. Your role includes end-to-end ownership of epics and features, reporting directly to the Director of Authentication. This hybrid position allows flexible working arrangements, with 2-3 days in the office as per leadership guidance.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Master's, MBA, JD, MD), or 0 years of work experience with a PhD OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6+ years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or 4+ years of relevant work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Master's, MBA, JD, MD), or up to 3 years of relevant work experience with a PhD.
• Proven expertise in designing and developing data pipelines.
• Experience in creating data-driven solutions and solving data problems with technologies like Hadoop, Hive, Spark, MongoDB, and NoSQL.
• Proficient in developing large-scale, enterprise-class distributed pipelines requiring high availability, low latency, and strong data consistency.
• Ability to program in scripting languages such as Python, and programming languages like Java or Scala.
• Skills in Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Presto, and Map Reduce.
• Experience with Continuous Integration and Automated Test tools such as Jenkins, Artifactory, Git, Selenium, and Chef.
• Desirable experience with Graph processing technologies and graph databases like GraphX and Neo4j.
• Knowledge in implementing AI and ML methods, particularly for identity verification, fraud detection, or risk prediction, including techniques such as Identity Graph, Decision Trees, Random Forests, Logistic Regression, Neural Networks, SVM, or Anomaly Detection algorithms.
