Position Summary

We are seeking a Lead Data Engineer to build, develop, and maintain cloud-native software web applications and systems. This role supports CVS business needs and end customers. Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and implementing cloud-native application development, web development, API integration, and scaling applications to meet user needs.
  • Participating in the entire software lifecycle, including development, testing, CI/CD, and production operations.
  • Developing large-scale data structures and pipelines to organize, collect, and standardize data for machine learning models, generating insights, and addressing reporting needs.
  • Collaborating with the Data Science team to transform data and integrate algorithms and models into automated processes.
  • Utilizing programming skills in Python, SQL, or similar languages to build robust data pipelines and dynamic systems.
  • Building data marts and data models to support Data Science and other internal customers.
  • Integrating data from various sources while ensuring data quality and accessibility standards are met.
  • Analyzing current IT environments to identify and assess critical capabilities, recommending optimal solutions.
  • Experimenting with and advising on new tools to meet the requirements dictated by models and use cases.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience building end-to-end data-intensive systems in production
  • Proficiency with data engineering tools and languages such as Apache Spark, Python, Java
  • 5+ years of engineering experience with a strong focus on data engineering
  • 5+ years of experience with Python, SQL, and MLOPS best practices
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud platforms like Azure or GCP

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.

Compensation and Benefits

The typical pay range for this role is $118,450.00 - $267,800.00. The actual base salary offer will depend on factors such as experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors. This position is also eligible for CVS Health bonuses, commissions, or short-term incentive programs, in addition to the base pay range mentioned above. The position includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
