About the Role

We are looking for a seasoned Staff Data Scientist to help us harness the power of data and machine learning. This role requires an expert to develop advanced machine learning models that will manage financial risks and optimize customer lifetime value. You'll work closely with various teams to innovate and enhance our products, significantly impacting our core services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement advanced statistical and machine learning models to manage credit risks and prevent fraud.
• Own the full lifecycle of machine learning projects—from data collection and model development to deployment and ongoing maintenance.
• Utilize large datasets for exploratory data analysis and visualizations, translating insights into actionable business strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Create and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support model training and deployment.
• Continuously evaluate the performance of models, optimize them, and ensure they meet the industry standards.
• Keep abreast of industry trends and advancements in machine learning and financial modeling.

What We’re Looking For:

• Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a relevant field.
• At least 6 years of experience in deploying machine learning models, preferably in fintech.
• Proficiency in programming languages (Python, R, Scala) and familiarity with ML libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
• Deep knowledge of statistical learning theory and predictive modeling.
• Proven ability to drive business results through risk and consumer behavior models.
• Experience with large datasets and distributed computing.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

The salary range for this empowering role is $200,000 to $235,000 annually, based on experience and compliance with Flex’s salary policies. This is a hybrid position located in NYC, designed to blend remote work with in-office collaboration.
