We, the Data Science and Analytics Products team, construct centralized data products that assist the business and our customers. We cooperate with every part of Truecaller, producing products that require centralized ownership or whose construction competence isn't present in the broader product organization.

As a Staff Data Scientist, you will assist the Head of Data Science and Analytics, translating vague business objectives into data science products that can yield value iteratively. You will lead the data science tasks in the team, arranging the work and ensuring that the outputs match business goals. A key part of this leadership is coaching and mentoring other data scientists to facilitate and expedite their development, as well as addressing their issues and implementing methods to make the team as content and productive as possible.

Collaboration is paramount for this role, both in dealing with stakeholders and within the team to achieve results that can't be achieved single-handedly.

What We Expect from You

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience applying data science and machine learning to solve real-world problems
• A proven record of leading data science projects in a team, participating in planning, coding, and communication
• Superior programming skills in Python and SQL
• Solid understanding and experience with Python tooling - IDEs, unit testing frameworks, and static code checks
• Superb communication and interpersonal skills, with the capability to express complex data and insights to non-technical stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving skills and a results-driven mindset
• Customer fixation
• The ability to possess and drive projects and products to production and incrementally refine them over time

What You Will Work On

• Exploring the problem scope and identifying data science solutions that significantly enhance customer experience
• Organizing data science tasks for the team, emphasizing cooperation to accomplish shared objectives
• Gathering, compiling, and understanding the data required to construct data science products that thrill customers
• Cooperating with stakeholders across Truecaller to identify and construct data science products that solve business and customer problems on a large scale.
• Guiding and mentoring junior to senior data scientists to boost their technical abilities and productivity

It Would Be Great if You Also Have

• Expertise in querying very large data effectively (we use BigQuery)
• Experience engaging with C-suite executives
• Experience managing data from mobile applications
• Experience with data visualization and reporting tools, such as Tableau, Looker, or Power BI (we use Looker)
• A profound understanding of the engineering requirements essential for implementing machine learning solutions into production and scaling them to hundreds of millions of customers
