Staff Engineer, Product Catalog - Remote Opportunity at LTK

About the Role

We are looking for a Staff Engineer to lead our Product Catalog efforts. As the backbone of LTK’s Creator-Driven Shopping App, this service will house billions of items and support features including price drops, link management, retailer availability, search, ranking, and similar product scenarios.

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of e-commerce and product catalog systems, with proven experience in delivering business value in a high-growth, fast-paced environment. You should have experience building highly scalable systems designed to handle significant growth.

In this role, you will streamline processes, work effectively with engineering teams, and challenge both yourself and your team to develop simpler and better solutions to complex problems. This high-visibility role will involve close collaboration with the VP of Engineering and other departments to ensure LTK's success.

Responsibilities

• Lead the building and scaling of Product Catalog, Exact Product Matching, and Product Search Services.
• Demonstrate strong command of Golang, Python, Vector Databases, and embedding technologies.
• Design and build complex systems, architecture, and solutions.
• Contribute to engineering and operational excellence, completing critical projects on time and within budget.
• Evaluate new technologies and tools to improve the engineering team's efficiency.
• Innovate to solve complex technical challenges and influence technical direction.
• Maintain technical documentation, including architectural diagrams and project plans.
• Take ownership of complex issues, drive problem resolution, and act as a technical leader in crisis situations.

Qualifications

Leadership

• Proven leadership skills including mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives.
• Aptitude for project management from conception to completion.
• Commitment to continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
• Ability to mentor and coach within the department.

• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts and collaborate with non-technical stakeholders.

Technical Skills

• 7+ years of experience with distributed systems and software development principles.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and compliance requirements.

Nice to Have

• Expertise in diverse data storage technologies.
• Strong understanding of data processing frameworks like Apache Spark and Hadoop.
• Knowledge of stream processing frameworks like Apache Kafka.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in data modeling concepts and ETL processes.
• Expertise in optimizing big data applications for performance.
