Position Overview:

The Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) is seeking a dedicated Student Information Data Manager to ensure accuracy in student records and data management. This role is pivotal in maintaining, analyzing, and reporting student data in compliance with district policies and supporting the educational objectives of WCPSS.

Position Purpose:

The primary purpose of this role is to manage and safeguard student data through precise record-keeping and data entry. Responsibilities include analyzing eligibility and service data for students, compiling extensive data requests, and ensuring the integrity of data provided to stakeholders.

Key Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

An Associate’s degree in a relevant field, complemented by two years of experience with computer systems, particularly data editing and entry, are required for this role. Comparable combinations of education and experience may also be considered.

Minimum Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and Google Apps.
  • A thorough understanding of student accounting procedures and regulations.
  • Exceptional organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Capability to prepare detailed reports and official correspondence.
  • Aptitude for maintaining confidentiality and practicing discernment.
  • Strong independent judgement and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills across various groups.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a school office setting is highly advantageous.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This role involves serving as the expert of the student information system, preparing and maintaining accurate reports, ensuring compliance with North Carolina’s educational data reporting requirements, and assisting in various administrative duties related to student information management.

Working Conditions:

Candidates must be able to operate standard office equipment and perform primarily sedentary work. Occasional physical activities may include moving objects up to ten pounds. This position is office-based and requires frequent interaction with school staff, students, and vendors.
